Happy February! I won’t lie, it’s been a crazy month so far. If you follow the astrology, not only are we dealing with a Mercury Retrograde in Aquarius (double air sign), there are about 7 planets gathering in the sign of Aquarius (or Capricorn if you follow the Vedic system). I don’t know what the results have been for you, but it’s been living up to being a time of upsets, miscommunications, and delays. Let’s hope things settle down by March.
A quick update on Chthonia projects:
- The podcast schedule for 2021 is set. I’ve had some technical difficulties with the last couple of files, so apologies for any issues this may have caused. January through March focuses on Afro-Brazilian and Afro-Caribbean goddesses, and those of Pacific/South Pacific. In April we will return to Greek and Egyptian deities, and will begin a whole new theme for July. More on that later.
- I urge you to check out both Medb and the Morrigan Timelines, with links to both on the Chthonia Books page. They are available from most major booksellers around the world, in addition to the links provided. I intend to add Chthonia Books as a Bookshop affiliate soon, so more on that when I have it. If you’ve read either of these books, a review on Amazon or Goodreads would be helpful!
- If you have not read my academic work, Death and the Maiden: the Curious Relationship Between Fear of the Feminine and Fear of Death, that is also still available from Algora Publishing. It’s a really important work that informs the entire basis of the Chthonia concept, and is a deep dive into the connection between salvation beliefs and our attitude toward what we consider “Feminine” (not just biological women).
Last but not least–some other new ventures coming up this year:
- Chthonia Education Channel: This will start with some basic Mythology and Religion courses, and I will be posting specialized courses as the year goes on in Religion and Psychology, and various aspects of myth (e.g., Underworld and Afterlife Mythology, Planetary Mythology, etc.)
- Consequential Realities: I am starting research on a new book project that examines the nature of what is “real” on a spectrum from pure fiction to pure fact. This includes thoughts about psychological “realities,” egregores, and thoughtforms. Mark Stavish made the very apt observation in his book on Egregores, “There is no good and evil, just ideas and their consequences.” From this I have the idea of “consequential reality,” often based in fiction, but gains an energy and impact in the real world. I’ll keep you posted on that project.
Hope you are all doing well so far this year, I think 2021 has been off to a rough start but will get better. If you are interested in my other services, I have some specials now at https://www.liminalreiki.com/ , so be sure to check them out!
